New York Rumba combinations is a class that stems from my mambo, Afro-Cuban, Flamenco, Tango and N.Y. style foot work as a whole. Freddy Ruiz have been training in Afro-Cuban & Rumba dance and rhythms since 2003. His performing experience and training comes from Master Felix "Pupy" Insua and Oriki Omi Oddara dance company. This Afro-Cuban dance company performed with different dance professionals which gave this a distinct style. Pupy welcomed this as he embraced dance evolution and creativity. This dance is extremely difficult to master and takes a life time of training as it coincides with life itself. He will continue to perfect my craft as this dance is vast and limitless.

Freddy last performance was in the 2007 New York Salsa congress along side Master Pupy as they opened the congress that night with a philosophical music from the heart arrangement. This special dance is for any dancer any style who is open minded and wishes to explore distinct movements which coordinate upper and lower body movements in synchrony using African and modern rhythms. This dance form has separate categories within it called Orishas which are explored separately as they represent different ways of expressing life. The Rumba dance form has its own categories allowing room for growth and evolution. These different dances listed on the right will be explored and incorporated as the class advances. This class will also have a splash of Tango and elements of Flamenco which he has currently developed a strong interest in as it coincidently has similar origins to the Rumba dance form. The class will touch your spirit and body in unison as it may truly change the way you perceive dancing as a whole.

His goal is to continue to evolve and enhance these techniques for endless form of expression. He hopes everyone will enjoy this different experience through his eyes as he will continue to work and create for maximum enjoyment of body and spirit. Remember dancing is life, do not deny your body from it.
